Michael Haase

Upon graduating from beauty school at 17, he became the youngest stylist to ever join the core team of the prestigious Vidal Sassoon. There he began his study for methodology and haircutting design. Though having learned much, Haase realized that there was so much more to having amazing hair than just a cut. Vidal was instrumental and quite supportive of his growth within the industry. He was then given the rare opportunity of working with Annie Humphrey's in London in the early 1980's. Humphrey's is known for being the second part of the Vidal Sassoon "Dream Team". If you're going to be taught something, you might as well be schooled by the best.

Today, Haase is both an educator and stylist, working with Wella Professionals. He is also the head stylist at his own Salon Platinum Black. Quotes: "the most important tools a successful hairdresser can have is continuous education, a premium quality color product, a good set of blades and the patience to create”.

He credits his success to education, and he holds to the integrity of his mentors, even while incorporating the latest technology into his craft. Haase's goal is to help educate other stylists and create hair designs that are worthy of a "high quality magazine image". Each person is an individual; a unique piece of art just waiting to happen.

Haase continues to design and re-design as fashion trends are always in a state of Re-invention. He has cemented his place in the industry as a professional hairdresser, educator and artist. Haase now believes that by passing his knowledge to other hairdressers they will continue their path to become "the NEW elite" in the fashionable world of hair artistry.

DJ Muldoon

DJ joined Vidal Sassoon as a cosmetology student in 1994. Little did he know what an impact this would have on his journey. There he joined the ranks of what is now known as a legendary group of haircutting, coloring and styling educators and industry leaders.

After a few short years DJ had become one of Vidal Sassoon’s most sought after educators, ‘teacher of the year’ in his first year of teaching, and established himself as a member of the Creative Team under the guidance of Tim Hartley. Here he developed his skill as an educator working side by side with his mentors and peers Traci Sakosits, Gerard Scarpaci, Wayne Woodruff, Stephen Moody, Julian Perlingiero, Lucie Doughty amongst many others who helped lay the foundation of what would become the Vidal Sassoon ABC system.

By 2002 DJ transitioned onto the next phase of his career by joining the Paul Mitchell organization to create Paul Mitchell the School’s haircutting system and curriculum. While at Paul Mitchell he became a global platform artist sharing his knowledge and skill to a worldwide audience. This gave DJ the ability in the mid 2000’s to start creating on other levels such as video production and ‘step by step’ education, earning DJ the much coveted Hairbrained Video Award in 2014.

In 2011 DJ started theFactory, an independent creative production space, education space, and salon based in San Diego, which gives DJ the ability to educate on many different levels such as hands-on education and web based education.

DJ is one the world's most sought after teachers in the industry because of his no fluff approach and his ability to breakdown the what, why, how, and when in haircutting. He believes that  ‘Knowledge Destroys Fear’ and he is proud to represent the hairdresser as an independent artist.
